Subclass 887: Skilled - Regional Visa (Residence) - Onshore

This is a permanent visa with unrestricted work rights for holders of the Skilled Regional Sponsored visa (487 and 475), and the old SIR visa (495) and SDAS visa (496).

To be eligible to apply, the main applicant must:

hold one of the eligible Regional Provisional visas – 475, 487, 495 (SIR), or 496 (SDAS);
demonstrate that they have complied with the conditions of their provisional visa, i.e. that they have lived for at least two years and worked full-time for at least one year in a Specified Regional Area.

There is no sponsorship or nomination requirement.

(Note: 495 (SIR) and Skilled -Regional Sponsored Provisional (475, 487) visa holders can also apply for a Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme (RSMS) visa at any time during the currency of their provisional visa from 1/9/2007.
