FOUNDER AND PRINCIPAL LAWYER
(former M.A.R.N. 0104387 from 2001 to 2021)

Linda McCreath

Linda has been practising exclusively in Australian migration law for over 20 years. She founded Abacus Visa Immigration Lawyers in 2004, and specialises in corporate immigration compliance and risk management. Prior to this, Linda’s extensive knowledge and expertise on China gained through a Chinese Political Economy degree and networks in her native Hong Kong led her to establish a boutique services firm from 1990 to 1999, where she assisted global businesses to explore commercial interests in China. She has also worked for PwC in Sydney. This depth of experience gives Linda an exceptional ability to help corporate and individual clients navigate complex problems and find solutions that benefit their interests in the long term.

Throughout my years of practising migration law, I’ve found being frank and candid is the key to building strong relationships with clients that last over time. This approach serves me well outside of work too. For over 20 years, I’ve enjoyed mentoring young people to improve on their communication and public speaking skills as a member of Toastmasters International. I’m also a member of the Haymarket Chamber of Commerce Executive Committee, a group that oversees the continued development of a key part of Sydney’s cultural and historical heritage.

To relax, I’ll often play a few games of tennis, swim and go for long walks. I have a particular fondness for the Tasmanian wilderness and gardens. There’s nothing like swimming a few laps at the beautiful Prince Alfred Park Pool before starting off the day!
